[engl] Revolving around singer/songwriters Johanna Brockman and her partner Dimitri Kucharzewski, Midnight Scavengers are a unique and compelling presence. Situated between sinister violent beauty and volatile fragmented shyness, Johanna Brockman, once a member of James McCann’s Dirty Skirt Band, and The Brian Hooper Band (who opened for Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds on their 2009 Tour) met up with now partner in songs Dimitri Kucharzewski (Nikki Sudden’s Last Bandits, The Hollowmen) in Berlin in 2011 to create the core of what would become Midnight Scavengers. After relocating to Melbourne in 2012, they grew to a five piece with the addition of Jeff Hooker (Brian Hooper’ s band, Kim Salmon, The Darling Downs) on bass, Tim O’Shannassy (MJ Halloran, Paradise Motel, Penny Ikinger) on drums, and Andrew Watson (The Man Who Wasn’t There, Charlie Marshall) on violin and guitar. Midnight Scavengers have become an extremely well respected and recognized band, playing alongside legendary figures such as Spencer P. Jones, Kim Salmon, Hugo Race and Ron S. Peno among others.

[engl] Kind of a "Reunion LP". Thee Caesars had been broken up but we got em together for a mini-tour of NYC in Nov 88, and they recorded this Crypt-exclusive LP on returning to Chatham. And CHRIST, is it NASTY! 15 absolute rippers.

[engl] It’s been quiet for some time for MISS CHAIN ND THE BROKEN HEELS, the extensive touring after their second album (The Dawn, released by Burger, Bachelor and Tre Accordi), band members went their own way to persue solo careers, starting a booking agency, buidling a studio, and just taking a breath, italian style. After few months things started to get together again, they did some shows in the spring of 2016 and baboom: Here is their new classic two song single, fresh and new, as if there hasnt been some kind of hiatus. You can easily hear it exactly 1 second after you let the needle drop on the Side A track, after few chords Miss Chain and the gang ooozes a warm feeling into your head and heart! Hell, they are back, with all the goodtime melodies enriched with their typical melancholy vibe. While the first track is a classic uptempo powerpop tune, the flipside presents a slower hipshaker, and although the velocity has been taken out this one is still a fine, mellow mood maker that leaves you hungry for more!

[engl] This was basically a follow-up band of COUNTRY WEATHER as a trio featuring Greg Douglass and Bill Baron. Mistress played all over the San Francisco Bay Area for the better part a year. They had it all going for them, the songs, the musicianship, drive, ambition, the right attitude, the fans, everything, everything that is except for time; they didn't give it enough before they called it quits. Their first gig was June 15, 1973 and their last was July 14, 1974 and in between there was a ton of fun and a lot of hard rockin'. The first time lightning struck for Mistress was in 1996, when TaXim Records in Germany released their original album "Free Flyte". The second time that lightning struck Mistress is now, with the release of "New Ground", a new album of old music. The music on "New Ground" is taken from some early rehearsals, demos and radio broadcasts. There are also tracks from Wally Heiders famed San Francisco recording studios. This was in the final days with their new drummer Chuck Burgi who had just replaced Bill Baron about a month before. This was all in an effort to streamline and make their sound a little leaner and meaner and it worked like magic, these are some of their hottest recordings. The insert includes photos of the band and the story told by the different musicians.

[engl] Mitraille recorded 10 new songs and rerecorded one old one (the killer “White pants” of their first ep) for your pleasure(?). Two of them grew mullets to really get into the spirit of things, the other one got confused and grew the hair before his eyes and he still is the smartest of the bunch if you can believe it. Now you might think “Mullets? Isn’t that very hipster punk? You know like Amyl & The Sniffers or Idles or one of those other poseur bands?” but you would be wrong, fortunately. These guys grew their mullets to pay tribute to inbred Kempen* culture and the Australian sharpies. They even got a real Australian to guest on the record, the great Brendan Chivers (Roda Lits, Brick Windows) who tells a tale about chickens. Other songs are about I don’t know really but they’re great to yell along too and vent some frustrations. The music is still the same mix of garage, punk, hardcore and random noise Mitraille is known for but faster, louder and catchier than before. We hope you like it! Enjoy!

[engl] Never reissued before in the original 45 rpm version, this two tracks are taken from the original master tapes of the band. The Modds, a Poplar Bluff, Missouri based band, cut a record in 1966 that has become a thing of legend, the ultra raw garage punk track, LEAVE MY HOUSE. The original 45 on ANR (American National Records) is a sought after rarity with some copies fetching as much as $1500. One peculiar thing about the original record is how up-front the guitar and vocals are in the mix. But the tapes reveals a layer hidden in the 45 version, where a second fuzz guitar, bass, and drums are now a part of the maelstrom! And you can have it here in this beautiful Groovie Records 7" with a real cool and original picture of the band in the front cover. [engl] Memphis has garnered a reputation for producing some of the wildest, freaky punk rock over the last 40 years—a thread running through acts like The Oblivians, Lost Sounds and Nots. More recently newcomers MODEL ZERO have created a fresh brand of psych-leaning punk to River City. Formed by members of EX-CULT, AQUARIAN BLOOD and JACK OBLIVIAN'S SHEIKS, Model Zero make bouncy, low-fidelity guitar grooves and analog synthesizer squeals that chase a motorik beat and never stray too far off into the tackiness of jam territory.

[engl] The main influences of Modulares are post-punk/powerpop from the late 70s and early 80s, with a twist from the old garage-punks of the 60s. This combination of influences added to the band’s original talents to compose new gems help to create a pulsating buzz saw that doesn’t get any close to the new and pre-established clichés of today’s pop music. The lyrics (in loud and clear Brazilian Portuguese) are about the pressure and questions of people who have the big city as a frame for their lives. Love adventures and misadventures, the swinging nightlife and the loneliness imposed by the modern world are the most common subjects of their songs.

[engl] Hiding in the night-shrouded lagoons of Venice, the MOJOMATICS, in person MojoMatt (voc, guitar, harp) and DavMatic (drums, percussion), take up your love with taut sails and undeniable spirit of youth. This is a TWO piece jack-off-all-trades lineup and they hit the shit big time. Thru the damn cool SHAKE YOUR ASS label we got their debut 45 “Devil got my women” earlier this year which shook the ground here. Limited to a mere 300 copies it already made it to few great reviews and ravings. Here is “a sweet mama gonna hoodoo me” - sixteen swampy blues encrusted punk tunes with a lot of rootsy pop harmonies and rambling´country-esque edges. The whole slop was produced on their own, not in their garage but Matt´s own analog recording studio, so we got a slab of raw hifi trash! They have the punk drive, kept up with the songwriting craftsmanship this is exactly what we needed now. All songs (but one traditional) are originals and stomp and swagger all over the place. No “for the fans of” namedropping-"music description" here. Sneaked those guys in at a GHETTO WAYS Festival gig and they handed me over their recordings. The whole inbred gang down there is downright nuts.... dancin` naked in brownish underpants…brought up the same wrecked cassette recorder they recorded that infamous BLACK LIPS Live 45 and recorded also that GW show. The LP comes in a splendid eyecatching full color heavy cardboard cover made by GREGO, the first couple hundred copies of the vinyl are on 180g wax.
