The wagons are equipped with endorphine popgun shots of early YUMS YUMS or RED KROSS, totally electrified & buzzing as the Atlantas' BARRERACUDAS and square & weird as LOVE BOAT islanders will splash at the last curve. [engl] Punk – like beer, coffee and films about people in space fucking each other up with laser swords – is an uncomplicated thing. So why do so many people get it wrong? We get it, you have frills you wanna throw in, but throw in one too many and you’ve got a holy mess on your hands – or a record that no one gives a toss about. Luckily, no one told Montreal’s Impotentie, whose punk racket is gloriously straight-ahead, beautifully ugly and a gritty pleasure to spend time with. Ok, it’s not without the aforementioned frills (more specifically, they sing in Flemish… because why not, eh?) but its charms are rooted in the fuck-you-up brutality of hardcore, the fuzzed-out vim of your garage rock faves and a direct simplicity that sounds like the gloopy chaos that comes out when you throw your turntable into a cement mixer. You know, just to see how the records sound inside churning liquid concrete. With members of Thee Nodes and Omegas on board, you know what you’re getting yourself into here. You can taste the bitterness of service station coffee, smell the beer-soaked floors of crappy dive bars and feel the blown-out bass of rotting PAs – it’s the product of lifers who love the road and it hits home hard. Even if Demostratieve Opnamens (‘demonstrative recordings’) turns out to be the only document this band ever produce, it’s a bundle of energy you’ll wanna drape all over yourself time and again. [engl] Indian Wars is a 4-piece garage rock group from Vancouver, BC. The band is made up of two brothers (John and Dave) and their long time friends (Fraser and Brad). They started playing tunes three years ago in Dave and John's Grandma's garage with their grandma occasionally accompanying on various instruments (sitar, frog, tamborine). Indian Wars' sound is influenced by garage bands such as DEMON'S CLAWS, THE BLACK LIPS, and the JACUZZI BOYS as well as the classic sounds of THE BAND, THE SEEDS, and the ROLLING STONES. "Songs from the North" contains ten songs recorded in a one night session at Hive Studios, and resembles a very intense and also laid back collection of tracks.

May we present The Intelligence, captured live in a truly subterranean underground show space below SF vintage clothier Vacation. Lars Finberg: a name synonymous with artisanal hand-crafted, locally brewed, and organically-farmed song lasers. Hilarious, fast, tour-tight and ballsy The band has all these perks in pocket. And all that on borrowed gear! I’ve watched this band go through many variations over the years and in their own right all of them have been marvelous. This particular version of the line up is constructed entirely of road-dogs. These guys don’t fuck around (or maybe they only fuck around, who can tell anymore?) They drink, they get bawdy, they shred and when we asked Lars if the band would be into doing a small show in a basement in the Tenderloin in SF for a live LP, he asked “What should we play?” and I replied “nothing but the hits” and they did exactly that. The Intelligence and Lars himself are masters at the penning of hits. Hit after hit after hit. And with a soft shoed tippity-tap of crowd work and banter. You can really smell the basement on this one and feel the cobwebs grazing the top of your head as you go deaf in one ear from the eye level PA pointed directly at your soul hole. If you love this band then this is a great live LP of them scorching the hits and talking trash If you don’t know this band (shame on you) then this is a good place to start” - John Dwyer

[engl] French rock outfit Irnini Mons approach post-punk in an oblique and candid way. With the intent of contributing to the relevancy of modern guitar-based music, they put their four personas at work since 2021 to craft a mixed, diverse solution of indie, progressive, pop and grungy rock. Formed with ex-members of the former punk band Decibelles (endorsed by the legendary producer Steve Albini), the four musicians all sing, sometimes in solo, sometimes in polyphony, always in French. After touring intensely in Europe, including a run with Shellac in 2022 and prestigious festivals (Trans Musicales de Rennes, MENT Ljubljana).

[engl] Enigmatic four piece It Thing return with a new 7" single, their first release since 2021's 'Syrup' LP. Offering two tracks, "Constant State" and "P.C.H.", It Thing deliver on the visceral, raw energy that they left us wanting for. On this occasion, Marthouse Records (AU) team up with Feel It Records (US) for a broader release. Formed in Nipaluna/Hobart's beloved Brisbane Hotel beer garden in early 2019 over a thirst for classic punk rock - and without much else to do, It Thing's 'Syrup' LP saw the then-Tasmanian band explode onto the worldwide underground like a shot in the dark. Emerging from small town obscurity, they delivered a record packed with power pop/proto-punk gold. Gimmie Zine put it best: "Bold, loud, with hook ramming into hook, It Thing deliver 9 tracks that zip by at the speed of light with an inspired cleverness and simplicity." As It Thing hammer through their latest single, the endearing simplicity and rawness almost places the listener in the room with the band - or the basement, as it were. Recorded in the basement of the house the songs were written in, frontperson Charlotte Gigi calls it, "A last hurrah for the old It Thing headquarters before the defection." The band have since succumbed to the gravitational pull of Naarm/Melbourne to link up with label mates Dr. Sure's Unusual Practice, Gut Health, Bench Press, et al.

[engl] Sydney Australia's Itchy & the Nits fly the budget freak flag high. 12 Tracks of fun in the sun stripped down garage punk bringing to mind early Donnas, Brentwoods, and Thee Headcoatees, with a healthy dose of power pop ala Nikki & the Corvettes. Their debut LP compiles the 7 tracks from their demo cassette released last year on Wartman Inc. with five more all recorded by Ishka Edmeades (Tee Vee Repairmann, Satanic Togas...).

[engl] The Jack Cades formed in 2017 when their first mini LP was recorded at North Down Sound in Kent, UK. At this time, it was just two people (Mike & Elsa) wanting to record a few songs they had written. They asked Mole (State Records, The Embrooks) to join them on drums and John Gibbs (The Masonics, Wildebeests) to join them on bass for the session. Their sound is raw, influenced by rhythm n’ blues and 60s garage punk. When they decided to carry on as a band—this required a full time bass player at which point they brought in Alexandra Cools (Speedball Jr.) and The Jack Cades were born. The band has always been hugely influenced by the sounds of the 60s, mainly US garage and UK beat bands from that time, but they are also influenced by a wide range of bands from different eras, some more modern, such as The Stone Roses for example. In April 2019, they decided to go record the 11 songs that would form their new album “Perfect View” with Liam Watson at Toe Rag Records in London.

[engl] The Jack Cades are back with a new album, the last one being Perfect View which was released during the pandemic and was sold out before the band could tour to support it. The band are Elsa Whittaker, Matthew Lambert, Mike Whittaker, Alexandra Cools, and was formed in late 2017 in Stratford-upon-Avon (UK). Consisting of members Thee Vicars, The Embrooks, Speedball Jr., The Missing Souls, The Baron Four, etc. The Jack Cades combined their Rock'n'Roll pedigree in 2017 and created Garage/Beat gems that mix clean 60's Garage and R'n'B influence with Surf and Stone Roses-esque Brit Pop.

[engl] Lost Weekend is Jack Oblivian's 8th solo album and is mostly comprised of early versions of Jack's songs and instrumentals as they were recorded in his apartment. Jack talks about how the record came about in a recent interview with Memphis filmmaker, Mike McCarthy: Mike: What is the history of the songs and how do they break down on previous releases? Jack: In the past years around 2009 or 10 or something like that I wanted to make a mix tape as a cassette release and call it "After Party." I wanted to record an 8-track tape of songs also as a sort of alternative. The whole concept was anything that was recorded in the apartment where I live now - and have been living for a long time - whether it was me playing on it or not. Usually I am playing on everything. That was the ultimate thing and out of that idea I ended up making a cassette of the music I did. Three years ago, I pressed-up 200 cassettes of almost an hour long set with just these random instrumentals and songs that ended up being on other records somewhere. Ultimately, I narrowed the "LOST WEEKEND" LP down to the better stuff from the tape. I cut out a lot of stuff that was really noisy.

Jackson Reid Briggs, after a year or two playing solo & exiled from his home, adrift in the worlds most liveable city needed a backing band. Sandwiched somewhere between his hometowns The Saints and Neil Young at his most ragged, playing in a dirty old pub on the outskirts patronised by locals only.
