[engl] In true Limits fashion of leaving everything to the last minute I was approached by a band member 10 days ago and handed a CD of what apparently was their swan song. Originally approached as a theme record Speculate/ Accumulate was a project of which many people heard of but no one actually heard it. Finally written in one afternoon and recorded the next one the six songs EP sounds urgent, as it should. Nothing has changed in the LIMITS camp, they are the same four kids that were bought up on a steady diet of Pebbles,ATV, THE FALL and other British weirdoes of yesteryear. Don't get me wrong they still are un-together, fast by default and punk as fuck so this platter will surely please the fans and convert the stiffs.

[engl] THE WANKYS 2nd studio album finally sees it’s release on the bands preferred format hard vinyl. This incredible violent recording includes 8 songs. Amongst them a re-recording of the barmy army sing-along song “ABC I Love Noise Punk” and the already classic “Hey Crusty Have a Fucking Bath”. This is the musical equivalent of pissing in an electricity socket and sees the band blending their noise attacks with incredibly catchy punk rock songs, all wrapped up with their trademark guitar fuzz attack. The Wank Mag contains much non-sense including band history, lyrics, guitar tab, photos, Wankerman comic strip and even a dot-to-dot penis drawing. This lavish package is all encased in a Kuro inspired envelope.

[engl] Out of icy cool hipster Paris come electro lo-fi art-punk trio This is Pop. 'M' ..s and machines, 'L' on vocals and machines, and 'S' on guitars and machines - is a Daniel Miller (Mute) defined version of post-punk with no reverence for traditional rock'n'roll methods. No drums but kick-ass unrelenting beats, thrashing artrock guitar riffs plus buzzing synth and organ basslines and melodies. In their own words ...Moroder Vs. Metallica Vs. Kraftwerk Vs. Motorhead (which seems to cover it). Feisty 'L' out front is a Kathleen Hanna/Karen O fronting The Deathset (a tasty prospect indeed)."

[engl] A marriage made in Hell- THRALL has joined forces with the oh-so-evil Reptilian Records for what turns out to be one of the heavier slabs of mind twisting genius to come out of the noise closet in some time. Mike Hard, vocalist of the long gone sultans of strange The God Bullies, shows no signs of restraint- and the aggravated wall of rock that provides his musical backdrop ain’t too shabby neither! Delving into the dark pit of disturbed religious and conspiratorial tales that Hard has become famous for, THRALL’s new platter is a slice of delicious hate, tuned to the key of FUCK. [engl] The long awaited First Hits Free by Tommy Ray! is not quite a Cry! record. But it is a solo album from The Cry!'s lead singer and primary songwriter. Musically, First Hits Free has more of the power pop feel of the first Cry! album vs. the glam-punk vibes of Dangerous Game. Even when he's writing about very serious subject matter (which he frequently does on this album), Ray has a knack for wrapping it all up in these irresistible pop hooks. First Hits Free is very much in The Cry!'s patented style of '70s power pop and punk by way of the timeless melodies of '60s rock and roll. But it definitely feels like a solo project. While rawer than both Cry! long players, this full-length debut from Tommy Ray! ought to delight anyone who loved those albums. Ray's style of singing and songwriting is instantly familiar, and if anything he has refined and grown his talents over the last six years.

[engl] "Second 12"" EP from Bristol folk infused punk trio Toodles & The Hectic Pity! Toodles write snappy, percussive punk songs with rich vocal melodies. Their lyrics are crafted with subtle literary hints and playful turns of phrase, tucking existential themes into catchy refrains that cry for sing-a-long. Far from pretentious, their live show is full of contagious energy and enthusiasm. Lyrically, ‘Ghost, Guilt & Grandparents’ is an exploration of loneliness, anxiety, and the nature of familial relationships through time. Despite handling heavy themes, the five song EP is uplifting, carrying you through irresistible, pop riffs and into the beautiful, long build intro of Mountain Man, the EP’s closing track.

[engl] Debut album from Bristol, UK folk-punk/emo trio Toodles & The Hectic Pity! Affectionately known to their fans simply as Toodles, band members Callum, Max and Dom all met at secondary school in Gloucestershire and formed Toodles & the Hectic Pity in the political quagmire of the mid 2010s for one covers set at the original iteration of what would later become Inglefest, a small festival in the Cotswolds. The band subsequently released 3 EPs including The First EP (2016), Call In Sick (2017), and Ghosts, Guilt & Grandparents (2020), which was their first release through Specialist Subject. Hold Onto Happiness With Both Hands was recorded and produced by Phil Booth jr. at JT Soar, Nottingham in October 2022, with cello, percussion and backing vocals recorded at Woodbox, Bristol by Dom Mosley. The album was mixed by Robin Newman at Snug Recording Co., Nottingham and mastered by Ian Farmer and his cat, Onion, at The Metal Shop in Philadelphia, PA. Described by the band as “at least half-way a break-up album”, where previous EP Ghosts… was an exercise in introspection and mostly set within one room, the album is set in “the outside world”. While it might start out life as a break-up album, Hold Onto Happiness… quickly becomes a record about personal transfiguration. “It seems to me kind of pointless to write a merely depressing song or a merely depressing album,” says vocalist Callum McAllister, “so most of these songs and the album as a whole attempt to take a journey that ends in positive resolution and catharsis.”

[engl] Tørsö caught our attention with their debut 7”, Community Psychosis, but when we heard Sono Pronta A Morire we really flipped out. Originally a project band started by a group of worldwide hardcore all-stars, Tørsö adopts the best parts of members’ previous projects--the energy of Neo-Cons, the precision of Punch, the heaviness of Holy and the ferocity of Ritual Control—while simultaneously breaking new ground. Easily one of the tightest and most explosive bands in hardcore today, on their debut LP Tørsö combine the catchy, crusty riffs and rhythms of Swedish hardcore like Totalitär and Herätys with pit-clearing mid-paced parts, wrapping it up in a bruisingly thick recording that doesn’t skimp on the bottom end. While they’re very much fast, loud, and hard, Tørsö are a comfortable fit with Sorry State’s pattern of releasing thoughtful, well-developed, and well-written hardcore.

[engl] Delivering an explosive boot to the head, Kansas City punks Total Sham kick out the jams with their latest slab of no-frills hardcore aptly titled “LP”. After releasing their debut EP in 2021, Total Sham have continuously dropped new releases that conjure the scrappy vibe of 80’s US hardcore and the dogged spirit of contemporary Midwest DIY punk, falling somewhere on the spectrum between bands like United Mutations and Q. However, their sound is as unique as a crime scene fingerprint with their well-developed sense of songwriting and their uniquely weaponized raw power. Now these freaks have teamed up with Under The Gun Records to release their greatest contribution to the world of punk yet with “LP”- a joyful vision of hellish rock n roll. On this crusade of musical thuggery, the band harnesses their radiating energy into 12 punchy and memorable hardcore songs that will light you up like a goddamn Marlboro cigarette.  Tracks like “Kool-Aid '' and “In My Head” are equally heavy and infectious- a perfect soundtrack for leather droogs mindlessly ricocheting off each other in the circle pit like burning shrapnel. The rest of the record follows suit, each song bringing its own inimitable twisted riffs and stompy drums. The vocals are especially dialed- feral hardcore madness. This all culminated in the release of, undoubtedly, one of the best hardcore offerings of the year. “LP” is an uncaged, euphoric, energizing, and radical trip into punk mania.

[engl] Tozcos started in 2013 in Orange County, California and this is their second LP. "Infernal" was based around perception. Perception of ourselves and the world around us. The idea that hell is not so much a place of demons and burning flames but more so a reflection of our shame and insecurities. How a lot of our torment is connected to the perception we have of ourselves. Justified or not. A lot of these feelings come from our background of families being Mexican immigrants in the US. Musically, our influences are simple for the most part. We really love punk from the area that we are from, like Adolescents and TSOL, and we carry that stuff in our blood no matter what band we are in. This is mixed in with our love of Spanish-speaking punk, and other international hardcore punk such as Eskorbuto, GBH, Toreros After Olé, Svart Framtid and Qloaqa Letal. We tend to funnel everything we do through our own creative ideas to end up with something that to us, has personality and can stand out but still feel familiar in the world of punk and hardcore. Somos Tozcos. Esto es Infernal.

[engl] Originally released in 1982, this is a really really rare record out of the early 80ties punk / new wave pool in Vienna. Not as well known as many of the austrian first wave punk / hc bands, this short lived combo tried to put their emphasis not on being the snottiest, roughest sounding brat of the school, nope, its a bit Dada (hence the label that originally put this out), a bit new wave, a bit pop! Listen or yourself and find out... Thanks to Andreas Buchegger we were able to get a copy of this gem, gave it to Eric Brady to get a fresh vinyl master to press it on beautiful black vinyl. Housed in a cardboard sleeve, we even included an insert with (german) lyrics and photos.
