Laisser vivre les squelettes
[engl] In July of 2005, Daitro headed to San Feliu, Spain, to record what would become Laissez Vivre Les Squelettes, an album written through long jam sessions in Lyon, France. This is one of those albums that only comes around every so often, that changes your perception of a genre, and defines it. Laissez Vivre Les Squelettes is a stunning balance of darkness and beauty. It's both chaotic and calm, depressing and inspiring, and it's just an absolute masterpiece of a screamo album. Repressed on snowy white vinyl with printed inner jacket- Format

Y
[engl] Hailing from Lyon, France, on their latest album called Y from 2009, Daitro deliver a totally perfect blend of hardcore and emo, prooving that there are still some bands that possess the power and spirit of d.i.y. and punk that the original French emo movement held in the 90's. At the same time, Daitro has no doubt created their own sound, full of new intensity, passion, and atmosphere. Repressed on solid yellow vinyl with printed inner jacket- Format

[engl] 8 songs of amazing garage-death-punk written (mostly) by the talented Charles Rowell from the San Diego based band Crocodiles while he was living in Lyon, with Flo, Antoine and Lester from the Horsebites as a dream backing band. What a great team, you know they can do no wrong ! Fans of the Wipers or The Estranged, you’ll love those dark and haunting set of songs exploring punk, garage and death rock influences. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t supposed to release this but when Flo played me the recordings, I just fell in love with those songs instantly and insist to release them on a 12’’. And here you go ! With an amazing arwtork by Jonathan Florez and a beautiful transparent red vinyl. Only 200 copies are pressed so don’t sleep on it !!- Format

incinerat
[engl] European release of the second tape from Futurat called Incinerat ! Futurat are an awesome power trio from St Petersburg in Russia filled with heavy fuzz guitars & bass, loud drums and haunted vocals influenced by heavy 90s Grunge bands and modern garage punk bands such as The Ohsees or Ty Segall. It’s all in the red, it is meant to be played loud and you will probably do like me while listening to these songs : headbang like a teenager in his room listening to Nirvana’s Bleach for the first time. Featuring Tim and Artem from the alternative screamo band Materic that I got to know while on tour in Russia with Baton Rouge. Fans of grungy garage punk in the vein of Metz, Fuzz, Meatbodies or early Nirvana, this one is for you !!- Format

s/t
[engl] Longings explore the dark passages of post-punk with an intricate and melodic edge. Both bleak and levitative, their self-titled debut aggressively conquers themes of frustration & isolation. The Western Massachusetts trio, comprised of my good buddies from Ampere Meghan Minior and Will Killingsworth, as well as CaliforniaX’s Cole Lanier, have grown and intensified their sound dramatically since the release of their 2013 demo tape, and it truly shows on these recordings. Over the course of eight songs, the band crafts an acute and urgent album by way of dynamic guitar work, compelling vocals, and spirited delivery. 300 LPs pressed on solid yellow vinyl, including a giant insert with lyrics ! For fans of Ampere, Wipers, Nervosas- Format

[engl] From Marseille ! Originally released in the spring 2021, this new edition will come with an exclusive 10th song. Somewhere between punk and powerpop, mixing the best of 80s french punk, this LP is only made of angular hits, upbeats hooks and juvenile energy. Maybe you’ve been lucky enough to have seen them touring with Alvilda llast spring to witness how good they are ? atomisés
[engl] from Lyon who are, since 2014 and alongside Syndrome81 & co one of France’s favorite Punk band right now. There is an amazing new wave of french punk bands singing in French nowadays, taking their La Souris Deglinguee / Camera Silens / Leatherface influences into a more modern and melodic approach, with amazing lyrics and federating choruses. Zone Infinie are definitely one of the best examples... Their shows are always crowded with tons of different people coming to their shows, from squatters to antifa skins, hardcore kids and punk rock lovers. A very unique band indeed and their new 6 songs are killer, comprising an unconventional and unexpected cover of Mylene Farmer’s Generation Desenchantee !!- Format
