This two-man project features AJ Durso of GAS RAG, BIRTH DEFORMITIES, CÜLO, etc... and Joe Muffin of NANCY fame , already that info should be enough for an outstanding combination! So the MUFF DIVERS play a sweet mash up of punk, rock, & 70's glam. Our boy from SORRY STATE RECORDS Daniel found the correct words for this EP: Drum machine-fueled punk-pop with some of the most juvenile lyrics I've ever heard, but something about the songwriting here just knocks it out of the park for me. I think the reason is that everything is so centered on the vocals. I mean, the riffs are interesting and the drum machine is actually pretty cool, but MUFF DIVERS put those simple, catchy vocal melodies right up front in a way that reminds me of classics like JAY REATARD, THE DICKIES, and maybe even THE RAMONES. I feel like 90% of the music that I recommend here is riff-based; in other words, the songs tend to hang around guitar parts with the other instruments acting more as texture or accents, but MUFF DIVERS are all about singing along. I also love the whole idiotic aesthetic here, and if you flipped out about that DESTROY ALL ART compilation (or if you have soft spots for both KBD and 90s underground punk) I have a feeling you'll love what this band is putting down as well. Highly recommended. So we have a beefy drum-machine-fueled punk with hooks, could it be the new CONEHEADS? The new DICKIES? The new JAY REATARD? WE SHALL SEE! You only have to know that it rules and is the kinda stuff that will stick in your head for days! GET IT!

The sound of the first album was a bit crummy / lo-fi in some way, this has changed totally here, but still they ride the rollercoaster in the theme park called “Rock n Roll all night and party every day”... “New Swears are a joyful and wasted party... brimming with feel-good tambo shakers and guitar hooks. [engl] The Nightbirds were a combo from Swiss that recorded the first single in March1966 to the italian EMI, " La Strada Bianca " writed by Mario Del Don that goes directly to the swiss Hit Parade to the 8th position. In that period the band begguins an intense activity. They turn to professional status, touring in Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany and recorded 3 more singles at EMI the played in sveral important Clubs in Swiss and Italy like Blow Up, Pony and Volkshaus in Zurich. The repertoire goes from Beatles, Yardbirds, Kinks, Rolling Stones, Pretty Things, The Who ,Spencer Davies. They always used on stage the famous "Vox a.c.30" and "Vox a.c.50 "Vox guitars and Ludwig drums. With the famous kind of Bat logo of the band in the kick drum front. For the first time reissued in LP all the tracks from the 45rpm recorded by the band in 1960's, Quelli or Alla Resa Dei Conti are some of the best tunes made by an italian/swiss band in the 60's. [engl] 9PH is back. Right in time for their first european tour in a looooong tim, Lonestar Recs put out the latest recorded songs by the mighty Nine Pound Hammer. The line-up features Scott Luallen as well as Nashville Pussy's own Blaine Cartwright. "Rode hard and drove away wet" is a 9PH original that is just as good as a kick in the nuts. 9PH haven't sound that fresh and smashing in quite a time and like this it feels good to have em back. Side B ("this drinkin will kill me") just fits in perfectly. It's a cove of the country icon Dwight Yoakam. This single is limited to 800 copies and hand stamped.
