    FREQUENCY EATER

    The Fine Game Of Nil

[engl] Some Animals As Leaders/Plini type bullshit, but actually pretty tasteful for once. The songwriting isn't constrained to the usual Holdsworth-fusion and djent modes, either - for example, about a minute into my favorite track But With a Whimper, there's some aggressive blasting that almost sounds like atmo-black. In other songs like Nine Meals to Anarchism the introspective moods and trance-inducing rhythmic spirals remind me of old-school instrumental prog metal like Kopecky. The jammed-out sound of those chiller compositions is really odd, by the way, given that this is a one-man project." Second solo-album by Owen. 2XLP limited to 150 copies (coloured vinyl) and each cover uniquely handpainted by Owen himself!
