[engl] "The USA-based progressive doom soloist Hallowed Butchery teams up with the French funeral doom soloist The Austrasian Goat for a monumental collaborative split 10" based upon the moral stance of self-reliance, popularized and preached by the Transcendentalist movement of the 19th-century. In a world of consumerism, conformity, religious-brainwashing, and political bullshit, these two musical geniuses refuse to merely follow the pack. This is reflected in both their lyrical content, and in their approach to their music, which is performed in solitude, and which often defies categorization. The Austrasian Goat begins the split with two songs of dark, minimalistic, funeral doom reminiscent of Ahab, Celestiial, and Nortt, but with an approach all his own. On the second of the two dirges, Ryan Fairfield of Hallowed Butchery makes a guest appearance. Side two features one epic song from Hallowed Butchery. [engl] Hesperian Death Horse are an avant-garde / sludge / post-metal quintet from Zagreb, Croatia, formed in 2012. The band sees themselves as the narrator of a saga about birth, life and death featuring psychedelic and nihilistic poetry. Each stage is envisioned as a separate album; taken together they form a trilogy. Once the trilogy in finished and the saga concluded, the band will not create music again. The saga is being told in the order of death, life and birth. Death was the theme of the band's first album 'Mrtav' (Croatian for 'dead'), released in 2013. Life is the theme of their newest, second album 'Živ' (Croatian for ‘alive’), coming out in May 2019. Birth will be the theme of the last part of the trilogy, and the band’s final album. 'Ro?en' (Croatian for ‘born’), will see the light of day in late 2020.

Two years ago, the band surprised the scene with an unusual blend of streetrock and metal on their EXPLORING SOLDIERS RISE album, with influences ranging from oi! and hardrock to black metal. Now the band is ready to explore these chosen paths even further with the addition of Sander van Baalen from THE DEVILâ??S BLOOD to their ranks, who immediately put his mark on the new songs with his characteristic drumming style. On THE GLORIOUS DEAD EP, the Dutch-American brotherhood surprises again by putting a mix of their most vulnerable and most heavy songs to date on one disc, from beautifully arranged acoustic tracks to hard pounding epic metal attacks. The songs are based around a central theme that reflects on the impact of war from different angles. That includes a heavy rocking version of the traditional and classic folk song â??The Green Fields Of Franceâ?. The fact that vocalist Erick Barnes is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with several tours under his belt adds even more weight to the songs and the concept. The previous LBTS releases already showcased Erick as a very strong vocalist, but on THE GLORIOUS DEAD EP he pushes things a little further with some impressive clean vocal lines. Wouter Davidsâ?? Besides laying down heavy and tight bass lines, Freek De Greef is a celebrated sound engineer and has provided the new songs with a heavy vintage, yet fresh blasting mix and production. The recordings were done in three different studios located on two continents. The majestic cover artwork captures an ancient burial site from 2000 BC at Regte Heide (NL) and was hand-painted by the grandmaster of dark arts, Johan Prenger, who is also responsible for the artwork on the previous LBTS release. THE GLORIOUS DEAD EP is being put out as a warm-up for the full album release. It will be released as a one-time limited pressing on 12â? vinyl and CD, and it will not be re-released in this form or format ever again. All tracks were exclusively recorded for the EP release except for â??Sacrificeâ?, which is taken from the upcoming full-length album CERNUNNOS (planned for March 2023). The lyrics for â??Sacrificeâ? were written by Richard Walker of SOLSTICE fame, who happened to be a great supporter of the band since the very start. Jump forward to 2016 and the band reformed with 4 of the original members to release the 15 track CD compilation "Chronology of Distortion" on Dark Blasphemies Records. It’s been 30 years since the band released new recordings and here it is! The Soil Throne represents Malediction at their most brutally powerful. Featuring 2 brand new tracks and updated versions of both old and mid era songs with an unparalleled production this release really does catapult Malediction very much back into the scene and demos the band at their very best. Retaining 3 original members plus new additions on bass and drums, Malediction are preparing to gig in 2024 and they already have some shredding new material ready for the debut album! [engl] 7 years after we brought you the very first Memoriam output with The Hellfire Demos 7" on Cosmic Key Creations, we teamed up with these legends again. This time we are proud to present you a ten track lp release featering all the band's demo's, B sides and rarities including some previously unreleased stuff. The demos that are produced by the band sound so good, many other bands would wish their official studio recordings sound like this. The unpolished recordings really do justice to the brutal songs and bring them to live without any frills. Also with multiple versions for songs like War Rages On, Drone Strike and Contempt Grows, it's interesting to see how these songs progress in the writing and recording process. Some of these versions have never seen the light of day at all untill now.

[engl] Greensboro, NC’s Mourning Cloak, made up of members of Torch Runner, Graf Orlock & Braveyoung (Giant). No Visible Light clocks in at just over 33 minutes of crushing riffs, devastating beats and thunderous vocals. “No Visible Light.” The title is apt, because this is an ominous cloud blocking the sun, raining down charcoal dust, black mud, and infant ash on us all. Their Facebook page refers to their music as “funeral doom/punk,” but I only hear the former in this track. But this doesn’t sulk through the cemetery, it grooves hard enough to split the catacombs in half, releasing the crypt bats into the air. After the quickly dissipating opening ambience the guitars crawl from open graves and shake the rust off their bones with godless black-and-blues riffs. There is suck a thick layer of slime and sludge on this song that it reminds me of that barrier of grime and giant centipedes Indiana Jones’ love interest sticks her hand through in Temple of Doom. If you don’t get that reference, here it is in non-geek language: This song is nasty and unpleasant in the most sadistically delightful ways possible. The vocalist sounds like he’s plummeting into a bottomless pit, shaking hands with the devil to make a pact to finally break his fall. This is some seriously bleak stuff that fans of Bongzilla and Cough should feverishly inhale. ( mister growl )
