[engl] A mysterious three–piece from Birmingham, Three–Headed Dog played underground hard–rock, clearly influenced by early Judas Priest and Wishbone Ash. Before disappearing in the mist of time, they left behind an ultra rare demo tape – recorded in 1973 – which included a couple of cover versions from Wild Turkey and Edgar Broughton Band along with self–penned material. This demo was handled to Norman Hood, manager of other Brum bands such as Necromandus and Flying Hat Band, who was involved in promoting Three–Headed Dog at the time. · First time on vinyl.

[engl] PESCANI SAT open up the dance with a grandiose pop rock tune that is clothed in a garment of lush string arrangements and presents a beautiful lead melody plus a few simmering hot guitar solos that scream right down into your face. PROCES with their title “Sarena svetla” deliver an atmospheric 70s rock tune with a gentle edge and vocals that bear a strong character. At some point it turns into a furious but joyful gypsy dance and then straight afterwards it becomes a bluesy and jazzy fuzz rocker for the solo with some additional brass section. There is an ever pulsating percussion sound backing up the track, giving it an out of control groove. SANI with “Eleonor” rock next in a straight 60s garage fashion. A bit retro for the time of its release but never the less a kick ass raw beat number with a memorable chorus. KUD and their “Kud I” tune have enjoyed a musical socialization with the contemporary funk, soul, psyche rock and garage rock of their youth and now mix it up to a hot blooded, memorable rock tune with a classical melody thrown in here and there for the good measure and some nice fuzzed out guitars. Beautiful choirs spice up this tune and make it another highlight and the organ used as a lead instrument comes in a wild fashion. We turn over the disk to its B-side and KOREN with “Tema Br. 13” give us some dark and bluesy rock with heavy organ sound carpet and a skilled axeman who knows to fire some beautiful jazzy leads and simmering hot eruptive solos from the neck of his axe. The whole tune has a melancholic approach with a solemn aspect. NELIJA who now enchant our ears with a gentle tune in an acoustic fashion combine the beauty of 70s hippiefolk with elements of traditional music from the Balkan countries. All in all their “Put je dug pred nama” song is a simple yet utterly beautiful tune. Slightly folky with rich melody textures comes “Cekanje”, a light weight but heart warming pop song with a 60s US westcoast flair courtesy of CVRCAK I. One more band I never heard of before but with a great hand for sweet arrangements as the strings and flute patterns of this song prove. OMEGA have nothing to do with their Hungarian namesakes and play a rather jazzy late 60s style pop once more with a US westcoast flair. They sing in their native tongue and might therefore sound a bit far out for the average music listener but fans of that late 60s stuff mixing jazz, blues and pop will find a rich treasure in this song and in this compilation album. So there are more places than Berlin, London, L.A. or Tokyo, you can even find awesome music of international format in the Serbian back country. Give this album a chance if you are a true music lover.

[engl] Third album, originally released in 1972, by Argentinean power–trio VOX DEI. Solid hard–rock / heavy–blues with cool folky/acoustic touches, killer guitar leads and vocals. Master tape sound and poster. Formed in Buenos Aires in 1967, Vox Dei were one of the leading 70s rock band from Argentine. Originally born as a quartet, they soon mutated into a wild power–trio (Ricardo Soulé on guitar, Willy Quiroga on bass and Rubén Basoalto on drums). "Jeremías, Pies de Plomo" was released on the Disc Jockey label just after their legendary concept album "The Bible".

[engl] Warlock could be considered the first satanic / occult hard–rock band from Spain. With roots in proto–doom band Necrophagus, formed in Madrid by singer / guitar player Victor Ramos in 1974, Warlock were heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, Lucifer’s Friend and Hawkwind but they were too dark and wild–looking for the record companies of the time. During their brief existence, 1977–79, they supported the Ian Gillan Band at the Teatro Monumental, Madrid, 1979. They also shared stage with bands like Burning, Cai, Teddy Bautista & Canarios, Azahar, John Martyn, Eduardo Bort, etc. In 1978, they recorded a bunch of demos, collected here for the first time. Raw & wild lo–fi psychedelic hard–rock / proto–doom with space–rock touches! Eight self–penned songs with titles like "Archives Of The Universe", "Cortocircuito", "Earth", "Control Perdido", "Space Ritual" (which is not a Hawkwind cover but a tribute to Dave Brock’s band, whom Victor once met in France), etc, plus a cover of Black Sabbath’s "Paranoid".

[engl] Formed in Glasgow in the early 70s, White Light were not an ordinary Xian rock band: influenced by the explosive sound of The Who, the hard blues of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers and even Black Sabbath, their live performances across the country featured heavy rock sounds, feedback howling round, phased lighting effects and commitment to the real enjoyment of Rock Music. They weren’t formed to play in churches – but to take The Message to the rock generation in loud clubs, halls and big rock venues. In 1972, they were finalists in a national rock competition organized by Melody Maker magazine. This event encouraged the band to enter the studio for the recording of their first album. “Parable” was released as a private pressing in 1974. Housed in a mysterious looking cover, the music is Xian hard psych straight from the garage with lot of raw fuzz guitar and Vox Continental organ. Combining hard-rock with heavy blues and dreamy moments, it features the monster sidelong track “Prodigal”, which has to be heard to be believed. First ever reissue of this ultra-obscure private pressing (as featured in the last Hans Pokora’s “7001 Record Collector Dreams” book with the maximum scale rarity). Done under license from the band members.

Originally from Benton Harbor, Michigan, White Summer was formed in 1973 by a trio of eighteen- year- olds who shared a mutual love for Hendrix, Cream and Grand Funk among others. They were: Jim Watkins (drums and vocals), Rick Lowe (guitar and vocals) and David Wheeler (bass). White Summer played many shows at high school dances, outdoor festivals and nightclubs, becoming in the following years one of the top rock acts not only in Michigan but also in Florida, where they relocated at the end of the 70s. White Summer?s first album, known as the ?White Album? due to its simple design, was recorded at Uncle Dirty's Sound Machine Studio in Kalamazoo, Michigan, by Bryce Roberson who had formerly been an engineer at Chess Records. Self- financed by the band, 1000 copies were pressed and sold in the Michigan area. Sought- after by collectors worldwide, this is the first ever reissue featuring original artwork. 24- bit domain professional remaster from a mint original vinyl copy (master tapes were lost). [engl] Powerful and melodic hard–rock by this US power–trio: ultra–loud Quilter amps, killer leads, fuzz bass, furious drumming and vocals. Recorded at the legendary Sonobeat Studios in Austin (home of Mariani!) and originally released in 1971 as a private demo album, now impossible to find. RIYL: Grand Funk, Bolder Damn, Demian, Cactus, Stack, Banchee, Blue Cheer, Hendrix... Originally formed in California in the late 60s, Wildfire consisted of Randy Love (guitar/vocals), Danny Jamison (bass/lead vocals) and Donny Martin (drums). Famous for powerful live shows, they packed the clubs with lines around the block of fans waiting to enter, becoming the house band for Finnegan’s Rainbow and the favorite group of The Hessians Motorcycle Club, who became the unofficial guardians of the band. Soon, they got in touch with Pat Quilter from Quilter amps. Tired of blowing up amps when playing, Randy told Pat to design an amp that couldn’t blow up. And he did it. Following Wildfire’s input, Pat designed for the band the famous "Master Volume Dial" amp. In 1969, a Texas promoter heard the band in Southern California and brought them to Austin, becoming an instant hit locally in the Austin area. While in Texas, Wildfire shared the stage with Freddie King, the Allman Brothers, Johnny Winter and ZZ Top. It was in Austin that the 8–song demo was cut at Sonobeat Records (home also of Mariani and Cold Sun), released in 1970 as a private pressing housed in a plain white cover with a Wildfire sticker, each one numbered. The demo album was never sold other than at a small record store in Southern California and it’s now one the rarest hard–rock albums from the US. First bootlegged in the 90s and then officially reissued by Shadoks in 2006, here’s a welcomed new vinyl edition.

[engl] After more than 30 years hidden in a dusty storage unit, we present the previously unreleased album from one of the most enigmatic bands from the Texas psychedelic scene. An unusual blend of 60s garage-punk, Texas psychedelia (think 13th Floor Elevators or Golden Dawn), The Seeds, The Misunderstood, late era Velvet Underground, ‘70s era Stones and ‘70s pre-punk swagger. Awesome distorted steel guitar, super snotty vocals and the killer “Wolf” Mike Long (Stone Axe, Josefus) on electric guitar. Wolfgang were a young band from Pasadena, Texas, discovered by legendary Texas mogul C.L. Millburn (Sea Ell Records, The Coachmen, Knights Bridge, etc). Little is known about the band and what exactly happened to them after recording this album. But we do know that they were leaded by the great “Wolf” Mike Long (guitar player who was also part of Stone Axe and a temporary member of Josefus) and they also featured an unusual steel guitar player whose electrified sound recalls Glenn Campbell (The Misunderstood, Juicy Lucy) at his best. In 1970, Wolfgang recorded a set of songs written by Milburn, originally intended as demos to secure a deal with a bigger company. Eight songs were taped using Milburn’s trusty Sony two-track reel-to-reel, the same one he used to record childhood friend Townes Van Zandt in late ’66-’67. The major company deal never came so the tapes were stored at the Sea Ell archives for many years and Wolfgang disappeared in the mist of time. In 1994, three tracks from the Wolfgang sessions appeared on a compilation called “The History Of Texas Garage Bands In The '60s Volume 1: The Sea Ell Label Story”, released by the Collectables label. They were credited to “The Wolves”. Several years later, Michael Greisman from Cicadelic Records discovered the complete Wolfgang recordings while investigating the Sea Ell tape archive and Milburn revealed to him the real history behind the Wolfgang project. The complete recordings have remained unreleased until now.

A conceptual album featuring five long tracks with raw in–your–face sound and production, over–charged fuzz & wah wah guitar, powerful vocals with killer echo/reverb and studio effects. This is must for any hard rock / metal / heavy psych aficionado, reissued for the first time on vinyl and remastered from the original tapes. Including insert with liner notes and rare pictures from the archive of Vicente Feijóo, the original guitarist & vocalist from Zarpa. Heavy carboard sleeve + OBI. Formed in Mislata, Valencia, in 1977 by four teenager friends (Vicente Feijóo on lead vocals & lead guitar, Eduardo Feijóo on bass & vocals, Javier Herviás on guitar and Jesús Martinez on drums), Zarpa Rock (“Claw Rock”), later shortened to Zarpa, evolved from a group called Wolframio. After spending most of 1977 learning how to play their instruments, they were approached by a management agency called Zeus Rock, joining their roster in company of bands like Doble Zero. Under Zeus Rock guidance, the band did their first recording: a conceptual album titled “Los 4 Jinetes del Apocalipsis” (The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse) which due to low studio budget, was recorded “live in the studio” in a single one-hour-and-a-half take. After the bankruptcy of Zeus Rock, the proposed album project was shelved. Zarpa shared stage with legends like Ian Gillan and later on, in the heyday of Heavy Metal in Spain, they managed to release two more LP’s which established them as a very popular band, even opening for Barón Rojo, true Metal Stars in the early 80’s. They’re still in active.
