    THEE OH SEES

    Live In San Francisco

[engl] Perched in the belfry of The Chapel we caught Thee mighty Oh Sees, alive and in their natural element, with our shutters aflutter and our tapes on a roll. After a short incubation period the beast has reached full maturity and it is hideous. Over three nights they pummeled, and we’ve culled some great photographs, a wicked recording, and even a little live video action that we’re very excited to share with you. Presented to you on two discs, in a handsome double gatefold LP, with bonus live video directed by Brian Lee Hughes, edited by Casey Anderson and filmed by their crew of merry gentlemen on an included DVD, we are happy to announce our first double LP of the “Live in San Francisco” series. Finally you depraved Oh Sees freaks have something to take home with you when you lose your shoes and your girlfriend at the show. Put it on at home and pretend to wait in line for the bathroom and it’s like you’re really there. The thrash, the throb, the mob is all present and pushed to the front. Dual drummers synced in each ear, Tim Hellman rounding out the bottom and Castle Face’s own John Dwyer lasering young brains off and fomenting the crowd to a froth up front on guitar - it’s a great band, in a great room, with a great crowd and it’s cooked to perfection…take a little bit of it with you this time.

    THEE POUNDERS

Don't Come Back / Stay In My Life

    THEE WYLDE OSCARS

    Do The Wylde

    TIGERS OF DOOM

    s/t

[engl] The Tigers of Doom were founded in Berlin in autumn 2003 and since then they left numerous traces of devastation. Damaged eardrums, sprained limbs, holes in livers and stomachs, gaps in the brain – it’s all the Tigers’ fault. And they’re only a duo! But they are noisy like a troop of wild animals. GoGo Gero plays all the rhythms of the jungle on his minimalist drum kit, and his singing stretches from energetic shouting to soulful crooning. And Asphalt Tiger: the high-tensed wires of his guitar are always on the edge of blasting; the sound that he drives through the amplifier terrifies man and animal. Now Sounds of Subterrania will release the first Long player of the Tigers of Doom: eleven songs of dirty Rhythm’n’Blues, Punkrock and Garage. One asks: where does this raw energy come from? Well, the Tigers of Doom were locked away in a recording room for an entire week, and they wanted nothing else than to break out. Their music is an effort to remember their days of freedom, to envision a better world devoid of cages and chains, and to make a sacrifice to there mythical forefathers which they ate up, to magically strengthen their selves. The Oblivians, the Gories, Alex Chilton, Agent Orange, Black Flag and the Sonics – from early time on they were the natural nourishment of these two carnivores. Since their childhood days the Tigers love to play this wild garage punk: GoGo Gero previously together with Ten Buck Fuck, Asphalt Tiger as a member of Metal Disco U.S.A. and Action Team. They’re getting better every day! We can hear it: meanwhile the senses of the Tigers of Doom are dangerously sharpened, and their stringy limbs are of an unbelievable tension. What do the Tigers of Doom believe in? After the apocalypse jungles, savannahs and swamps will spread out everywhere. Collecting fruit, trapping, going fishing, ripping wild animals and eating them at a blazing camp-fire, and party-hardying all night long: thus the days will pass away, and each morning will be new and strange. The Tigers of Doom play the sound of the nearby future this very day.

    TIMMY`S ORGANISM

    Lone Lizard

[engl] Element 115 is a mysterious, superheavy element that has 115 protons in its nucleus. It is said in the UFO community to be the power source for dimension bending alien spacecraft. It is also found in the tone of Timmy Vulgar’s gravity defying riffs. To describe Timmy’s Organism as heavy, is as fundamental in concept to our human existence as the drone of blood pumping in beat to our hearts. Guitarist & singer Vulgar, bassist Jeff “Giant’ Fournier, and Scott Dunk on drums, plug into a tradition as hallowed as Ron Asheton’s fuzz pedal on The Stooges's first album or Lemmy’s low end hypnosis on Hawkwind's Doremi. But Timmy’s Organism is more. They are their own thing. The new LP Lone Lizard is as confounding, twisted, solid, and heavily out-of-this-world as any sonic offering in the last 300 years . . . as if all the previous Organism records, and those of Vulgar’s past groups Clone Defects, Human Eye, and Epileptix never existed… or have always existed. Timeless is the rhythm. The musicianship and sense of arrangement on Lone Lizard is jazz-esque in its double-commitment to loose precision. Lyrically, the record ranges from "Peyote Moments" surreal truths: "Like the ancient ways of the secyalapoid . . . bring me back to the desert where the serpents lie in the sun. Telling their fibs into my ears, I will not hear!" to the naked-to-the-bone vulnerability of "Tracy Trouble": "My heart melting continues, I just wanted a sober kiss. Like our young love days! But the dealer stole you away! . . . You chased the dragon to the stars, please come back into my arms." Few bands have a discography that includes labels Sacred Bones, In the Red, Third Man Records, Goner, Hozac, and Total Punk. Pick up your headphones, plug into the jack, press play, and let this dimension’s premier and only acid punk space glam power trio make you feel like the first time over and again.-- Chet Weise

TJ CABOT & THEE ARTIFICIAL REJECTS

    s/t

[engl] Recorded with ONE $5 microphone, the 11 all but originals just blowin away and spit the bootleg agent orange right on your skin. It starts of with "Cut it down", a MC5-style rocker and ends on Side A shuts down with DEAD MOON, fireside accoustic going off duty "It Ain' t Fun (in the City of the Whiplash)". Inbetween you will witness a punk meltdown, pick your grave left or right of early SPACESHITS ("Occipital Neuralgia"), KAJUN SS (" I am the Enemy") or stinking fish! On the B-Side run, the jaytard joy of Single A-Sides goes on, with some only-the-GINO & THE GOONS-can-do-it smashers, more weirdo garage rockn'n' roll of those STEVE MCQUEEN wannabees and pots and pans proto-punk with some occasional drunken ramblings. On top, those Matadors of Trash unveil "Nowhere To Go" as if REAL KIDS play an unwritten PACK song. Magic mushroom mastering by James O´Toole of TOTALOUTTACONTROLLER and additional nitpicking vinyl mastering by A-HULEHULE and helpless BARRATO in Berlin. TOTAL LOVE

    s/t

[engl] All the way from Toronto, Ontario, the stunning debut record of TOTAL LOVE! The first time I listened to this record, I knew it was the start of something amazing. What you get is a sun-soaked beach, garage, punk, pop gem that will satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. Simple, haunting, instantly memorable pop songs that will leave you glad to be alive. Let's just call it beach punk; these guys are keeping it tight and far from over-produced. Their formula is simple: big, poppy riffs and catchy choruses, jangly upbeat guitars and reverb soaked vocals. Confident, heart-felt, refreshingly irony-free beach pop that is just about the catchiest thing you have heard in a long time. This is a fantastic and exhilarating summertime pop album, so get your beers and yourselves ready to start summer in TOTAL LOVE! I guess you could say we are a TOTAL LOVE fan and I know that after listening to this record, everyone else will be, too...

    TOXICS

    s/t

[engl] ”What we do is a secret, what we do is a hoax,” sings The Toxics on their debut album. There were no secrets or hoaxes in the making of the album but there were a lot of changes. The Toxics is the love child of the singer Jens Hortling and the guitarist Ilkka Luttinen. It had always been a trio playing primitive garage rock. But in the years 2016 and 2017 the band had to reinvent itself. First they drafted a new guitarist Juha Laine and then they started to make a record. The sound of that record would be different from the old Toxics and not only because they brought a bass to the line up. The first album has escaped from the garage towards more nuanced spaces. There’s pub rock, power pop and influences from 1960’s garage rock. Hortling’s voice and Luttinen’s guitar are recognizable but other than that the band sounds new. In the year 2017 The Toxics have five members. Hortling sings, Luttinen and Laine play guitar, Ari-Pekka Heinola is on bass and Riku Korhonen on drums. The song on which they sing about secrets and hoaxes is called: Secret. The Toxics may have stumbled but they never fell. They believe in the power of rock. Mastered by Tim Warren.

    TRACY BRYANT

    Between Us

[engl] L.A. songwriter Tracy Bryant released his third studio album just about a year ago and the first follow-up comes in the form of a limited single split between RSTB faves Six Tonnes de Chair (France) and Third Eye Stimuli (Aus). “Between Us” was cut during the sessions for Hush but Bryant notes that it didn’t fit with the album, and I’d agree. The melancholy tone of Hush isn’t as present in the sun-streaked pop bounce of “Between Us.” Instead there’s a sense of motion and crisp air. The song’s not jubilant, but its trading wistful for winking which seems like a natural fit for Bryant. Despite its studio sheen, the simple setup feels like it shares a bit of DNA with Cronin and Segall around their humble Trouble In Mind days. Bryant hangs the song on the strength of a hummable acoustic hook, sweater-hugged harmonies, and a the kind of natural saunter that endears a song almost immediately. With a lyrical smirk at someone’s know-it-all hijinks, the song is pretty relatable too.
