[engl] There's Aliens In Our Midst! Transmitting from the same warbley orbit as fellow Californians Twinkeyz, as well as outliers Roxy Music, and Gary Numan's Tubeway Army, Andy Human (The World, Naked Roommate, Time Flys) and The Reptoids are back with their first full length in almost four years. In the time between they've teased us with a bunch of killer singles. A succession of short blast preparing the world for their eventual invasion. Here we are in the 2019 and the mothership is descending. 'Psychic Sidekick' is a 10 track transmission of intent. Space is the place and The Reptoids are here to carry us away.

[engl] A reissue of the third single on All the Madmen Records from 1980. The single was recorded at Spaceward Studios in Cambridge where The Mob, Swell Maps and Stiff little Fingers all recorded. Andy Stratton was a sixteen year old punk from Somerset who hung out with The Mob and the Yeovil punks. The drummer on this single was Graham Fallows who was still a member of The Mob at the time these two songs were recorded. Andy had never played a gig under his name but decided to go into a studio and record these two gems. I Don’t Know is a glorious punk pop nugget that has style and sass. Think a mix of the Buzzcocks’ Pete Shelley vocally Pete Fender’s only 7” Four Formulas (For The Eradication Of Microbes) and the early Good Vibrations records releases. The flip Evil Minds is a more laidback and bleak track that leans heavily on the influence of the Mob. After this 7” Andy went on to form the greatly under appreciated Null and Void.

[engl] Andy The Band is the solo project by Andy Dahlström from Terrible Feelings, Sista Sekunden & Satanic Surfers. The music is more straight forward rock than the other bands, but with clear punk roots and attitude; something that a punk can’t wash off. The energy translates through the poppy melodies. All instruments are played by Andy, and produced by him and Tommy Tift. After the first EP (Carry On, Sabotage 2017) and a few shows in Sweden, ATB went to Japan as support to Vånna Inget on their tour.

[engl] Recorded over the course of 3 special evenings at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA, "Live Vol. 1" spans the entire Anti-Flag catalog and catapults you from your headphones straight into the circle pit. Known for their raucous live show, Anti-Flag deliver in kind with this first volume of live tracks. To support the release the band shall be touring extensively. "Live Vol 1" shall be released on 20 January 2017 (the day Trump takes office) with "Live Vol 2" being released later in the year. The vinyl release consists of "Random Colours", all are equally rare!

[engl] AOL released this full album and it’s definitely an… update… to the singular You’ve Got Mail song that was released towards the end of 2019. AOL out of Florida has some of the hardest, toughest, most down low and brutish riffs coming out right now. AOL is the palate cleanser for the entire swampy state. Sometimes you don’t want to be tuff. Sometimes you just need to nerd out on the internet with abrupt and angular guitar riffs while complaining about being an intern at the ole day job. If Android is the angry anti cyberpunk revolution on the frontlines, AOL is their nerdy tech assistance back at base. The songs are top notch and the recording is raw in all the right ways. What a time to be alive! Seriously, though, this tape is top-shelf stuff, so give it a whirl if it sounds like something you’d like to hear.

[engl] The Ar-Kaics are back with See the World on Fire, their first new album in six years. Expect eight new tunes of dark, moody, rollicking garage psych not altogether dissimilar from their previous output (across two LPs and a mess of singles). What you get here is the next chapter. All written and recorded in singer-guitarist Johnny’s bedroom / garage (pictured on the album cover), it’s a concept album based on the concept of making an album—on their own, from the brink. But don’t just take our word for it…

[engl] Assistert Sjølmord (translation - Assisted Suicide) release their debut 7 track 7” EP, after an outstanding demo in 2021. Thirty seconds in to 'Klimabombe' and we reach maximum velocity and there's no let up. The intensity and feral nature of their sound is laid bare with a sharp production and guitar tone that is both clean and harsh at the same time. The vocals rage and are totally ferocious and are in a smilar vein to Chitose from The Comes. It looks, sounds and feels like a classic Norwegian hardcore single from the 80’s and released on X-Port Plater (home of Svart Framtid, Stengte Dører, Bannlyst etc) mixed with the classic UK82 push and shove proto hardcore sound of The Mau Mau’s. These four Oslo punks take you by the throat and make Norwegian hardcore essential all over again.

[engl] Karma Sutra were an anarcho pacifist band from Luton, Bedfordshire who formed in the early 80’s after the demise of the legendary the Phallic Symbols. Karma Sutra only had one release at the time - an album self released in 1987 called Daydreams of a Production Line Worker which came towards the end of their lifetime. Sealed Records now release the earlier years of demos and compilation tracks on a 15 track round up. Be Cruel with Your Past and all Who Seek to Keep you There includes their first and primitive demo The New Economy Roast from 1983. It’s very basic and has a Bullshit Detector Compilation quality to it. A few years later came the second demo Shoppers Paradise which is the best material Karma Sutra recorded. Six tracks of well produced classic 80’s Anarcho punk with a driving sound. It’s passionate, tuneful and politically aware. How this wasn’t released at the time on vinyl, is a travesty. Also included is two tracks from the Mortarhate Compilations Who? What? Why? When? Where? and We Don't Want Your Fucking Law!. Finally the last three tracks were from the final line up of the band and were recorded with Spon from UK Decay adding more post punk elements to the sound. The LP comes with a 40 page booklet of Lyrics, handouts, fanzine interviews and statements.

[engl] Bogota's ATAQUE ZERO return just over two years after their debut with their second 12" EP 'Ciudades'. They are an international band with members from Venezuela, Colombia and France who formed around the Rat Trap scene which gave the world MURO, TRAMPA and ALAMBRADA among others, all of whom share members with ATAQUE ZERO. They've stepped things up on all fronts for Ciudades and bring you five new anthems that have built on all the promises their debut EP made. The songs are passionate, angry and maybe even channelling a bit of STIFF LITTLE FINGERS as well as PELIGRO SOCIAL and LEATHERFACE this time too. Everything here is the right balance of taste and power and we can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Ataque Zero are 2 Venezuelans, 1 Colombian and 1 French person and feature members of Muro, Dernier Futur, Exilio and Trampa but this time they have taken a more melodic approach with their sound. This still rages with intensity and passion like the finest Husker Du, Moving Targets, Manifesto Jukebox or Leatherface records. The EP never lets up the pace and has hooks at every turn. [engl] Swedish punk veterans Attentat returns with the strongest, most composed album the band has made in modern times. The singer Jönsson's experiences from a supposed deathbed are heartbreaking to listen to. Songwriting partner Siken's harder influences combined with Jönsson's glam-scented Lennon/Slade compositions spice up the arrangement, but above all, the album is a ball of boisterous bubbly punk with catchy choruses and fist-in-the-air messages. Attentat sounds like Attentat more than ever.

[engl] Attentat were pioneers in the first Swedish punk wave in the late 1970s, along with bands like Kriminella Gitarrer, KSMB, Göteborg Sound and Ebba Grön. After more than 40 years on the Swedish rock scene, Attentat has never felt more relevant. With the new album ”Punkhjärta” (Punk Heart) producer Mattias Glavå (Dungen, The Amazing, Ice Age and others) has carved out a cleaner more raw sound but the fighting spirit, energy and sing along refrains remain. Attentat are still set on changing the future without forget- ting their past and in 2019 they are better, smarter, stronger and more fun than ever. They have nothing left to prove, but still do. The day our planet is flawless Attentat will quit. But that day seems far away.
